First This Changes Everything! was an electronic piece. Next it was a sax piece.  Then in 2017, I went to an event at New Music Gathering that they called "New Music Speed Dating."  All the performers sat in a circle facing outwards, and all the composers sat in a circle outside them, facing in.  We had four minutes to try to hatch plans for a collaboration; then Matt Marks would bang a big gong in the middle of the room and the composers would move to the next performer.  And that's how I met clarinetists Jessica Lindsey and Christy Banks, also known as Spatial Forces Duo.  This version of This Changes Everything! was written for them.
